SERVICE:
Habitat Coosa Valley’s primary focus is providing homes for low income families in our service area. Residents of Floyd, Chattooga and Polk counties who meet the basic requirements and income eligibility guidelines can apply. Habitat for Humanity- Coosa Valley serves families who are unable to buy a home through existing affordable housing options, but who are able to make consistent mortgage payments and who are willing to become a working partner with Habitat for Humanity- Coosa Valley. A Habitat home is a hand up, not a hand out. We also have our “A Brush With Kindness” program that allows us to assist existing low-income homeowners maintain their homes and property. Frequently these homeowners are able to meet the expenses of the mortgage payments, but do not have additional funds to maintain their homes or property. Through ABWK, Habitat for Humanity – Coosa Valley will assist families with MINOR repairs, so their homes will continue to be safe, liveable and comfortable.

Restore: A thrift store that sells gently used and sometimes new items to the public. We primarily sell furniture, home decor, dishes, appliances, and some building supplies among other things. We also offer free pick up of donations in our service area. Proceeds from the store go back into the community to build more homes.

SERVICE AREA:
Floyd, Polk, and Chattooga County

VOLUNTEERS: Anyone 17 years and older are welcomed on construction sites. Construction skills are preferred but NOT required. Anyone who is eligible and willing to work is welcome to join. Tools are provided but volunteers are also encouraged to bring their own if they have them. Volunteers who are 16 years or older are welcome to volunteer at our Restore.
