SERVICES:
∙ Provides 24 hour fire protection and rescue services. (Class 5 ISO rating with full Basic Life Support rescue capacity) This department is fully accredited by Georgia Firefighters Standards and Training Council. All members are certified by the National Professional Qualifications Board of Fire Service.
∙ This department has a strong comprehensive safety program for school children, pre-k through 12, and a senior citizen education program.
∙ They have a smoke detector program that places smoke detectors in the homes of the elderly and the underprivileged free of charge. The department will go to the homes and install the detector, provide a safety inspection, and follow up one year later to maintain the detectors.
∙ This department is also involved in many community projects. They participate in “Toys for Tots” and Georgia Firefighter Burn Foundation.
∙ They have a Firefighter Clown Brigade that travels across the community and around the state participating in parades and other activities.
∙ The fire department is in charge of code enforcement, building inspection, life safety inspection, and issuing building permits for the community.
∙ They have a Ladies Auxiliary that assists in fund raising drives and provides aid to victims of fires and other community tragedies.
